It has been a year of new things. The most life altering experience is that
Tara, Kathy’s middle daughter, now works for my firm and she is living with
me! I have not had a roommate since I
was 19 but surprisingly it is working out just fine. She is a huge asset to NSBAR and it is fun
talking to someone besides myself at night (although I won more fights that
way).
I had a couple of
incredible vacations this year. First,
in January Seth, Kathy’s son, and I stayed at the Ice Hotel in Quebec. It was a wonderful experience! Sure it was cold but fun. The next day we went dog sledding with Seth
as the “driver”. I fell off about 5
times and the snow was very deep and hard to get back on but we made it! The next few days we stayed at the Chateau in
Quebec City. Then in February Kathy’s
family and I went to DisneyWorld in Orlando.
Again, a great time! Lastly, in
June I traveled to Panama City to stay with friends on their 4 bedroom “boat”
that was moored at the mouth of the Panama Canal. Ok, I will have to admit, it was not my
favorite trip. I prefer the Ice Hotel to
the tropics but I am glad I had the experience.
I messed up on the dates and left a day too early so I was not on the
trip thru the canal but I watched it online, in the nice air condition of my
office. Oh, I almost forgot, my best
friend and I took a long weekend in Lake Geneva for spa time – ahhhhh, that was
great!
Justin, Mark’s
son, was married in May. His wife is
beautiful inside and out. It was great
getting to see Mark who now has a girlfriend who is wonderful. It is nice to see him happy again. Justin and Christy are living in the San Luis
Obispo area.
The business
trips were about the same – Bloomington, Lake Geneva, Springfield, Colorado
Springs (that was beautiful), DC, East Peoria twice, San Diego, San
Francisco. I’m waiting for a hotel that
has wake up service that will tell you the time and what city you are in!
I’m sure as soon
as I post this I will think of a ton of other wonderful and exciting things I
did this year but the phone is ringing and I need to go.
Merry Christmas
and Happy New Year! Love, Terry
